Panic attacks and Anxiety attacks are two terms that are often used interchangeably, however, there are some key differences between the two. A panic attack is an intense episode of fear or feeling of doom that is accompanied by physical symptoms, such as a racing heart, sweating, shaking, or shortness of breath. Panic attacks usually last for a few minutes, however, they can last for up to an hour. Anxiety attacks, on the other hand, are longer-lasting and more general feelings of fear or worry that are not accompanied by physical symptoms. Anxiety attacks can last for days, even weeks, and can interfere with daily life. While both panic attacks and anxiety attacks can be disruptive and frightening, panic attacks typically have a more extreme onset and shorter duration than anxiety attacks.
