Medical refers to the general health care provided by doctors and other medical professionals. It typically involves diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries. Medicare, on the other hand, is an insurance program funded by the federal government to provide health care benefits to individuals aged 65 and over, certain disabled individuals and individuals with end-stage renal disease. It covers hospital care, doctor visits, preventive care and prescription drugs. Medicare is administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
