Anxiety is a feeling of worry, unease or fear that can range from mild to severe. It is a normal reaction to stress and can be beneficial in some situations. People who experience anxiety often have physical symptoms such as a racing heart, shortness of breath, and tense muscles. People with anxiety may also have difficulty concentrating or sleeping. Anxiety can be triggered by both external and internal factors.

Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. It affects how a person thinks, feels, behaves and functions. Symptoms of depression include feelings of hopelessness, guilt, worthlessness, and emptiness. People with depression may have difficulty sleeping, concentrating, or making decisions. They may also have thoughts of suicide. Depression is usually treated with medication, psychotherapy, or a combination of both.
