A pastor and a reverend are both clergy members, but they have different roles within a church. A pastor is generally the head of a church and is responsible for the congregation and its spiritual guidance. They usually preach during services and are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the church. A reverend is an honorary title that is usually addressed to someone who has been ordained as a minister. Reverends may perform many of the same duties as pastors, such as leading services and providing spiritual guidance, but they usually don’t have the same administrative responsibilities.
